Why the #1 message to give travellers is reassurance that you are keeping them safe.

Recorded in Puerta Ventura, Spain, reflections on travel during the pandemic and the need to find ways to replace the smile with multi channel communication to reassure customers. With nearly 20% of Americans suffering severe anxiety syndrome (I imagine most countries suffer similar amounts) according to the NIMH every business needs to focus on how to restore confidence at a time when the simple smile can’t be seen due to mask wearing.

Just a few examples of emotions that can be expressed via facial expressions which we can’t see include:

• Happiness

• Sadness

• Anger

• Surprise

• Disgust

• Fear

• Confusion

• Excitement

• Desire

• Contempt
